Company History
1979- Start of Lynn Welding
Jim Inglis started his journey by welding brackets from his home, beginning with just one TIG welding machine.
1981- Lynn Welding becomes incorporated
Recognizing the demand for a dedicated welding facility, Jim founded Lynn Welding in Connecticut, naming the company after his daughter, Lynn. Shortly thereafter, Lynn Welding relocated to its initial shop in Hartford, CT. Subsequently, the company expanded to Glastonbury and established a second location in Granby.
1983- Lynn Welding diversifies
Lynn Welding acquires Sciaky resistance welders, a move that proves pivotal as this service quickly becomes highly sought-after. The team's reputation for delivering high-quality workmanship earns Lynn Welding entry into the aerospace welding market.
1987- New facility & increased capabilities
Joe Inglis, Jim's brother, and Robert Schoenberger, a friend, join Lynn Welding and initiate diversification into the precision machining market, leveraging their extensive machining expertise. Shortly thereafter, Jim, Joe, and Robert collaborate to construct the current manufacturing plant located in Newington, CT.
2002- NADCAP Accreditation
Lynn Welding obtains NADCAP accreditation from the Performance Review Institute (PRI) for resistance welding, fusion welding, and brazing processes. This accreditation demonstrates Lynn Welding's capability to consistently deliver products and services that meet the high standards and specifications of aerospace and defense customers.
2007- Ownership Changes Hands
After Jim and Joe retired, ownership of Lynn Welding was assumed by Jan (John) Kania. With over 30 years of manufacturing experience, Jan previously founded and operated a successful manufacturing firm, which he later sold before acquiring Lynn Welding.
2009- New Growth
Lynn Welding embarks on the initial phase of an expansive growth strategy, focusing on core initiatives such as capital reinvestment, optimizing asset utilization, continuous improvement, enhancing customer satisfaction, fostering innovation, and achieving operational excellence.
2011- Client Growth Continues
Starting in 2011, Lynn Welding began to acquire numerous new welding approvals from prestigious aerospace primes like Hawker Beechcraft, Gulfstream, and Bell Helicopter.
2013- AS9100/ISO9001 Certifications
Lynn Welding successfully completes its initial AS9100/ISO9001 audit and attains certification. This accomplishment is credited to the skilled quality team and dedicated shop personnel, positioning Lynn Welding to welcome new customers following the certification.
2016- Expansion Funding Granted
Lynn Welding secured a $250,000 grant from the state of Connecticut to support its facility expansion, which encompasses a new 10,000 sq ft addition for its GTAW welding department.
2018 - Second location & Robotic Welding
Lynn Welding has leased an additional building to expand its welding capabilities. Subsequently, the company acquired GTAW robotic welding cells and GTAW circumferential welding cells, enhancing its precision welding capabilities.
2020 - Additional 33,000 Sq. ft. Facility
Lynn Welding acquired a new 33,000 sq ft building to accommodate its expanding fusion welding and machining departments. The space is rapidly being filled with additional 5-axis CNC machines, CNC lathes, and cutting-edge fusion welding centers.
